Diagnostic imaging

Color ultrasound, digital X-ray and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Same-day results.

Diagnostic imaging is an essential diagnostic pillar that helps doctors accurately assess pathological conditions inside the body. At Ky Hoa Medical Center, ultrasound, X-ray, and endoscopy services are performed on modern equipment systems, and results are read by radiologists and returned on the same day.

Who is it for

Diagnostic imaging services serve patients with indications from clinical doctors during their check-ups, participants in periodic health checks, and individuals who need periodic pregnancy ultrasounds.

Key Services

  • Ultrasound: General abdominal ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, breast ultrasound, obstetric 4D/5D ultrasound, cardiac and vascular Doppler ultrasound.
  • Digital X-ray: Chest X-ray, bone and joint X-ray, spine, skull, and abdomen X-ray. We use digital sensor systems (DR) for low radiation doses and high image quality.
  • Endoscopy: Gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) with modern video endoscopy systems to detect early ulcers, polyps, or tumor lesions.

Process

  1. Receive indication form: The doctor issues a diagnostic imaging form after the clinical examination.
  2. Perform the procedure: You are guided to the specific room (Ultrasound, X-ray, or Endoscopy room). The technician or specialist doctor performs the procedure according to standards.
  3. Analyze and output results: The radiologist analyzes the images and outputs the diagnostic report.
  4. Return results: Results are printed (with films/images attached) and returned to the patient within 15–30 minutes (for X-ray and ultrasound), or longer for endoscopy with biopsies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is X-ray harmful to health? At Ky Hoa, we use modern digital X-ray systems, which minimize the radiation dose to a safe level. However, if you are pregnant or suspect you might be, you must inform the doctor or technician before the procedure to avoid any risk to the fetus.

Do I need to prepare anything before an abdominal ultrasound? For general abdominal ultrasound, you should fast from food for 6–8 hours to avoid gallbladder contraction. To check the lower abdomen (bladder, uterus, prostate), you should drink plenty of water and hold your urine to fill the bladder, which helps the doctor observe the organs more clearly.

What is the difference between regular endoscopy and painless endoscopy? Painless endoscopy uses light sedation, helping the patient sleep through the 5–10 minute procedure without any gagging reflex, discomfort, or pain. After the procedure, the patient wakes up quickly and feels normal.
